my rogue np-2 is 2019 model it came with locktite on stock screws, improved trigger cage (less trigger side play) spacer washers in slt trigger kit will not fit on this one, and a steel trigger. the lighter trigger spring and ability to adjust 1st stage to 1/4" makes a differance. clean barrel first it comes really dirty. use 100% silicone chamber oil after 150 shots or so 1 DROP only. (note this oil brought back seals in 1980 1377 pump pistol I was sure HAD to be replaced) any other kind of oil will ruin seals on np-2. Pellets vary a lot, gamo fit inconsistanly and vary in weight more in tin will weigh less than 15.0 gn. than the stated 15.43 gn, listing to 1-100th of a grain is misleading when they vary over .4 grains. Simple physics prevent tight groups with those. pellet selection is everything, try H&N excite, good for a pointed pellet .

I bought the NPXL in .177 caliber. Wish I had read reviews first, not sure what is meant by .177 cal. like putting bike tires on a Lamborghini. Tried shooting light pellets before realizing I need to go heavier. That helped. Not a fan of the trigger — debating whether to replace trigger or sell the gun. Anybody like this gun or care to share their experiences, favorable or otherwise? Thanks.

A neighbor friend bought the Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston Elite Synthetic (.22) and brought it to me in the hopes that I could figure out why it wasn't grouping as he hoped. I found the barrel/action screws were loose and the scope rings were also loose because the attachment screws ran out of thread for tightening. I replaced the scope screws and that definitely helped.

As for the action/barrel it was apparent the fit was less than ideal. I decided to give it a full match rifle glass/pillar bedding job. The stock needed no widening or milling to accommodate the Acraglass bedding compound. The bedding job improved accuracy tremendously.

Next I fire lapped the barrel rifling and calculated the correct pellet weight that most nearly matched the rifling rate of twist and bore diameter (bore diameter + .002"). The best affordable pellet was the 14.4 gr. Crosman Gold. Olympic quality match pellets clearly out grouped everything else but at 4 times or more the cost. Not necessary for ground squirrels unless you're using an $2000 Anchutz or Walther match rifle.

After all the mods the rifle printed a very acceptable 1/2-5/8" group at 50 yards with no fliers. Less than half of the original groupings. Bullwinkle, tell Rocky to look out!!

I've had my NP2 .22 for a year now. In the beginning it shot all over the place, I'm now over 1,000 rounds in and it is now a tack driver. No lie, I shot a fly off an apple at 20 yards, I can shoot marbles and the primer end of bullet casings at 20 yards all day. I haven't tried many pellets, the Crosman hollow points 14.3g are what I've been getting the precision with. This thing has plenty of power as well, I have shot the 20.1g H&N Barracudas accurately out to 30 yards but I don't have the trajectory down to be accurate past that though I have hit some targets at 50 yards with the 20.1g H&N's. The scope is pretty good for a combo deal though I wish it had MIL dots. When I got the rifle I cleaned the barrel good and started shooting like crazy in my basement to hurry up and get past the break in, for my rifle that was around 1,000 shoots. The trigger does have a lot of pre-travel but the break is clean and light almost too light. To those who can't get groups, my advice is clean it, tighten everything and shoot the heck out of it, mine took 1,000 pellets till I could stack 10 rounds at 20 yards. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this rifle to anybody!

I agree with Mark. My Trail NP .22 All Weather (NP1) with a Charlie Tuna trigger and H & N domed hunting and target pellet is a tack driving, head shot squirrel killing machine . It was very frustrating getting this gun to shoot straight at first, I almost slung the gun into the lake. The trigger was replaced with a Charlie Tuna trigger and around the same time, my H & N pellets arrived. The gun and I love those pellets and it was around 300 rounds then magic happened. Still have the Center Point scope, I will not go through the pain of breaking in another Benjamin pellet gun. In fact , I will never buy another one, this is why I left the NP2 on the shelf. No one should have to go through what I did and others just to get the gun to perform with precision and accuracy. Thumbs Up to H & N pellets and Charlie Tuna trigger. These two designs are what made this gun. OK OK, the power the Benjamin trail NP1 produces is very respectful and the gun is actually very quite and smooth shooting. Cocking is not bad. Yes I love this gun and ground squirrels hate it. One shot one kill.

Also bought the jim shockey benjamin steel eagle out of the box this thing was a nut! The thing would just randomally fire out of know where if the gun was bumped.
I have the benjamin trail np. Worst air rifle i have ever owned. For the simple fact that it will not hold a group. No matter what hold, or pellets i use. Ibe cleaned the barrel and ran about 500 pellets through it. Also did trigger mod. And 3 diffrent scopes. It will be dead on for 2-3 shots then all of a sudden start shooting everywhere. Im talking 10-12 inch groups at 20 yards. Soo irritating. Pcp here i come.
